Big screen, home screen (tv), smaller screen (pc), small screen (tablette), mini screen (ipod). What a lot of life centres around one screen or another.
The Cinéclub (4th) showed "Woman at War", an Icelandic film. Serious on the
environmental front and liberally laced with surrealist humour. https://www.theguardian.com/film/2018/may/12/woman-at-war-review-benedikt-erlingsson-horses-men-icelandic-drama-pylon
A quick cuppa/beer
at Jacques then off to the land of nod.
Went to exhibition
at "Le Moulin" in Arles on the evening of 6th, where several local artists display their wares. Among them is
Béatrice from the village who had invited Lynne and I.
I succumbed to a tile with
a poppy on even though I don't know where I'm going to put it. The centre is
housed in an old fabric mill which still has signs of its previous life in
evidence.
After some red
wine of dubious quality and nibbles that tasted past their sell by date, the
cold drove us to take our leave.
Was invited back
to Lynne's for dinner and Rémi had gallantly offered to cook. We arrived to
promising smells coming from the kitchen, a warming fire and an apéritif .....
what more could one want?
How quickly Sunday (7th) comes around and was a good
day to not put on the alarm and linger a little longer in bed. Still made it to
the bar for coffee at the usual time. There I stayed until it was time to go
over to the restaurant for lunch with Jim and Mags, Ann and Terry. Had an
excellent meal bursting with lovely flavours.
The rest of the
day was less exciting: home screen, little screen, mini screen.
Scattered among these activities were the usual routine ones of Bagpipe stuff, treadmill, coffee with Nicole but unusually, I gave the market a miss.
Weather:
13°-17°, mostly cloudy and feeling chilly.
