A Day of Extremes

A nice sunny day dawned which was a real bonus as we could take advantage of our day off. Went into Figueres first to drop off some skirts to be shortened and then went in search of lunch. The restaurant in El Far d’Empordà that I had in mind was closed so we settled for Les Oliviers, he other one. Being purpose-built as opposed to old stones, it didn’t look that interesting but what do they say about books and covers? The food was simple but homemade; well, what do you expect for 11€ all in? Anyway it was very tasty and the staff were nice even though we had next to no Catalan. Decided after that to go and have a look around BMW in Perpignan and found a 118 soft top with only 1100 km on the clock. We were chuffed to bits with the discount and then some more as it was the young salesman’s first sale in the month that he’s been there. I even managed to get the promise of a bottle of champagne out of him even though it wasn’t a new car.
