Hello There!

Despite an unpromising weather forecast, the sky was blue and the sun shining which was just as well as, today Banyoles was hosting an Agricultural Fair by the lake. We'd had an early breakfast so it wasn't too difficult to find a parking space. From Banyoles we stopped in the ever picturesque medieval town of Besalú, had a walk and a hot chocolate. It cost the same as it would in France which is a sign of the times, I suppose. Apart from Catalan or Spanish food products, there's now only really alcohol and cigarettes which make the effort of crossing the border worth while.
From here it was off to stock up on Cava, where the assisstant gave us a pack of 3 bottles of rosé as a thank you present. Nice gesture.
Lunch beckoned at this point and Mas Salelles was the obvious choice. The food was every bit as well prepared as last night and we opted for the mushroom starter which was absolutely delicious. Home for a siesta and then duty, which was actually a real pleasure, called . Another fund raiser for the Téléthon. Music of all kinds was on the agenda and provided a showcase for the abundance of talent in the village.
